I picked up a camera when I was around 13-14 years old. My Mom bought me one of those little digital cameras that flew threw batteries, and I mostly took pictures and videos of my friends doing stupid things (I still have them, and I still photograph my friends doing stupid things.)
It wasn’t until my late teens that photography turned into more of a means of self-expression as I became increasingly passionate about documenting the world around me in all of it’s candid, natural glory. This passion has held true for all of my adult life.
I married a guy who likes cameras. And now I carry his stuff, hold the dogs, make the babies smile, post on social media, contact clients, make sure he remembered to bring snacks, make the snacks, hold flashes, fix lady’s hair, consult on outfits, gather inspiring new ideas, fluff wedding dresses, and stage detail photographs.
